Task 1 d)

Legal, MOral and Ethical issues task 1 c)

Legal, Moral and Ethical issues • I’ve checked the ASA, OFCOM AND IPSO’s website and haven’t encountered any legal issues which affect me due to the fact that I will be using my own photographs which I have taken myself. In terms of Moral or Ethical issues, again, there isn’t any problems which can stop me or make me change my plans. I have also got the right to talk about Instagram and no permission is needed unless particular actions are performed such as using images which are taken without permission or aren’t yours while you pretend to be the owner of them.

History of Journalism

Digital Platform Publishing

layout of journalism piece - improved

My website page would have a Title at the middle of the page at the top with the content below starting with introduction and moving on to photographs which I've taken myself as well as post description under each image talking more about it in depth. On the top right, I will have social media tabs where it will take people to both my email in case they want to get in touch with me as well as check my instagram account and have a look at my portfolio on there. At the bottom I will have a couple of web links regarding photography exploration as well as news. At the bottom of each page, I am planning to have a comments section where people who visit my blog can post comment regarding my content and if they have any negative or positive notes to mention and how I can improve my blog. On the right hand side I will have a section where people can find related content to photography.

Discussion and Feedback on Idea.

I've discussed my ideas in a group and shared my plans. The idea sounds good to them and they said it would be interesting to learn more about instagram and look at it with a different view in different perspective. Most people think instagram is another useless app for selfies, and to take a photo of your newest clothing or what you had for lunch. In most cases, instagram is the perfect platform to show off, however. I am willing to show my audience the other completely different side of instagram, the side which people haven't seen before. I also want to encourage people to go out there, even with their phone if they havent got a camera and start taking photos, they'll start seeing the world with a completely different eye. They will see beauty in everything, like I do. My team mates suggested that it might be a good idea to combine both ideas into one, I could be possibly talking about how instagram changed my life, completely, and how it encouraged me to do what I really love and not give up.

Proposal task 1 b)

Proposal •Target Audience- younger adults / teens. •Purpose – Encourage, persuade and motivate younger adults to forget about being bored, stay at home but grab a camera or their smart phone and go out, start documenting their city and capture the beauty. Photograph your surroundings and unusual corners of the city. After they have photographed their city, I want them to share their work out there and what a better platform then Instagram. •I’ve chosen Instagram because the Instagram community is very powerful and supportive and the amount of feedback you get can motivate you to go even harder and taking advices can make you a better photographer. Some people have no idea how Instagram could be used for business purposes, and the amount of doors it opens in front of you. The other reason is because I want to show and prove the people that Instagram isn’t all about ‘selfies’ or someone’s new ‘purchases’ or where they go. I want to show the side of Instagram people haven’t seen before. I want to do this mainly because there might be people who are still unsure about their passion and hobby in life, and by this, I want to encourage them to go out there and try different things, and hopefully find the one thing that feels right when doing it. •I am planning to create a blog which would contain the information I am going to include about my chosen topic. I am planning to talk a bit about myself first, and how photography has changed my everyday life and how it brainwashed me in a good way and made me have a completely different perspective on the world. I would include images relating photography as well as Instagram in order to give better understanding to my audience. •The platform I would use would be blogger. I am planning to create a blog which would link to my idea.

Comparison between old fashioned paper and digital publishing by Dimitar Zlatarev

Comparison between old fashioned paper- based publishing and digital publishing

Advantages
It is more accessible, with a range of devices.
Extended reading / research with hyperlines
It is quicker to research longer texts
You have wider variety of sources to choose from.
Cross referencing - revision notes - synopsis
It is cheaper or even free
Very widely distributed
It can be read and purchased near - instantly without a trip to the local store or waiting for a physical delivery .
Texts can be dynamically updated with corrections to keep it up to date.
The cost is significantly lower, no need to pay for production fees such as paper, binding or shipping or marginal cost.
It is significantly faster to publish and produce due to no printing or shipping times
Lower price point and habitual one click shopping behavior promotes more impulse buys therefore more profit.

Disadvantages
Digital publishing has a lot of positive advantages however there are some down sides to it,
Digital publishing is accessible to anyone, this is why there are chances of theft. Pirating printed books is very difficult, but when a work is stored in a digital format, the files are very easily shared, distributed and even copied with the loss of  revenue to the rights holder.
Another disadvantage would be the risk of breaking your device, it would cost money to repair it and your work might be lost.

Print media was a hot issue back in the days, it is what people used to read and be updated with the world and what is happening around them.
There are many advantages of print media,

Advantages
If you are trying to target a particular geographical area, you can do so with print media, for example a newspaper would be the best solution to advertise about a new shopping center opening in the area soon,
Magazines and newspapers are always in the eyes among the pubic. Magazines for example are read for a month, this brings more attention to advertisement.
Truthful information.

Disadvantages
There is a limitation in terms of the kind of people who might actually read your message, the newspaper may not be accessible to your target group, your message may be missed, thats why internet can be accessed from anywhere
You might have to plan months in advance, you have no flexibility when you are faced with a tight deadline which you have to meet.
